Grief

GRIEF AND DESPAIR

Is agony

Is misery

It grabs you and won't let you go

You think.

It feels like you might die.

But you don't

You feel sad

Unmotivated

You want to scream

Then you do scream

You yell

You let your anger out

Sometimes at the people you love

Sometimes at the animals you love

Sometimes at total strangers

Sometimes at inanimate objects

Maybe you drink or take a drug

Don't

It will make it worse.

Then you remember

You're strong

People have suffered worse

And survived

So can you.

You fight

You are strong

You feel better

You feel worse

You feel better again

You appreciate what you do have

You find a reason to carry on

You stay focused on the present

The grief will never completely leave

But you survive

You are strong.

Forever
